A silver bowl and lid. Paris 18th c. Under each of the two ears: - Master goldsmith hallmark: MM, below an ermine (?), above a fleur-de-lys (or clover) between two grains of medicine, all crowned. - Charge mark used in Paris between 1722 and 1744 and between 1750 and 1756: crowned framed by palms. - countermark (letter-date) used in Paris between 1722 and 1744 and between 1750 and 1756: M crowned. Under an ear (next to the above marks): - chance (or old) mark: an axe (?) - illegible mark On the rim of the bowl, the same mark as on the ears, but truncated: - master goldsmith's hallmark - charge mark inscribed twice - warranty mark On the body of the bowl : - hallmark of chance - from 1817: fruit (apple?) with leaves. Gross weight: 740 grams
