Rare English Dragon Lourd de la Garde Model 1760 (Heavy Drag - Lot 9
Rare English Dragon Lourd de la Garde Model 1760 (Heavy Dragoon Pistol) flintlock pistol. Round barrel, 14.7 mm caliber. The top of the barrel is marked with the crowned GR, the crowned scepters saltire (London Tower hallmark) and "REGt DRAGn GDs". Lock marked "IORDAN 1760" and the crowned GR monogram, round iron bassoon, lock edges outlined with a double line (functional). All brass fittings (minor accident to trigger guard screw), thumb piece marked D26. Light walnut frame, approx. 9 cm of almost invisible breeching at the end of the barrel and a probably old repair at the pommel, wooden ramrod with steel head. Overall length 48.5 cm, barrel 30 cm. A 2007 letter from SAMA (Société des Amis du Musée de l'Armée) authenticating this pistol will be given to the purchaser. Category D.
