Model 1866 Chassepot Infantry Rifle. 11 mm Chassepot caliber. Marked “Modèle 1866” and “Tulle” on the left side of the breechblock and “MI 1869” on the right side of the barrel. Tobacco-brown metal, free of oxidation; will restore to a very clean condition. The inside of the barrel is practically mirror-like. Wood with an illegible mark and some signs of wear. Buttplate numbered 89. Total length 131 cm, barrel length 79 cm. Category D.
