Newly manufactured Model 1822 T bis Cavalry Pistol. Lock mar - Lot 135
Newly manufactured Model 1822 T bis Cavalry Pistol. Lock marked “Manufacture Impériale de St Etienne.” Dated 1855 on the right side of the barrel. Breech block marked in cursive “Mele 1822T” (the “Bis” is illegible). Caliber and interesting renumbering on the right side of the barrel and on the stock. The metal has a black appearance due to slight, uniform oxidation; brass fittings bear the same hallmark; the cleaning rod is missing. Total length 35 cm, barrel length 20 cm. Category D
