French Model 1926 helmet, first type, marked “A. Monier, Marshal’s Corporal, 18th Battalion, No. 181.” Horizon-blue Chasseurs insignia. A few rare and very slight dents from shelling. The liner and chin straps are still fairly supple; the wolf’s tooth visor has a cut-off label. On June 19, 1940, the battalion was surrounded by German troops at Chenimenil (Vosges).
