A pair of shooting or dueling pistols, attributed to Captain - Lot 163
A pair of shooting or dueling pistols, attributed to Captain Guichard. Front lock plates, marbled and decorated with delicate scrollwork of foliage. Octagonal, fluted barrels, approximately 11 mm caliber, rifled and secured with wedges. The upper section of each barrel is engraved “To Captain Guichard, November 12, 1884.” All fittings are made of marbled steel; the trigger guards feature finger rests. Numbers 1 and 2 are marked in gold on each pistol at the trigger guard and the breech tail. Works very well. Tiger-striped walnut stocks with fine checkering. Very fine condition. Category D.
