Slightly lustrous glazed porcelain, late 19th century, early 20th century
Large figure of a sailor with a white beard smoking a pipe with a wide bowl, which could serve as a match holder. The green cap covering his head serves as a lid, which itself features a compartment for a humidifying sponge.
