Painted glazed porcelain, late 19th–early 20th century An elongated tobacco jar depicting a ship with two funnels and two clearly visible brown horns, titled “Brest Bomd,” in front of which stands a sailor holding a pipe. His appearance is not that of a sailor accustomed to the open sea, but rather that of a peaceful captain of a laundry boat, a profession that was very common at that time. Engraved on the base is the number 1619. Signs of wear. H: 19.4 cm - 7.6 in - L: 21 cm - H 19.4 cm
