Carpenter sword of the Swiss regiment of Boccard. Brass mount with double band and eagle head cap. Wooden spindle covered with basane and brass filigree (damaged) set in the frame. Flat, curved sawback blade engraved "Regt de Boccard Suisse", military trophies and floral motifs, stamped with the R with a large crown (Klingenthal 1771-1775), traces of oxidation. Leather scabbard with brass cap, missing the bolt, cut and short by about 1 cm due to shrinkage of the leather. The ordinance of April 19, 1766 created two carpenter soldiers per infantry battalion. Former Cottin collection (sale catalog March 1912).
