Pair of cavalry officer's pistols model 1833 2nd model. Octagonal damascus barrels stamped MN 1849 on the right side and C (Pierre Chassepot, Contrôle Principal) and G (François Gaudin) in a lozenge on the left side, hairline stripes, 17.1 mm caliber. Well-marked rear plates from Manufacture Nationale de Chatellerault (functional). Steel rods with brass heads. One of the two pistols has a cap with a ring that unscrews and contains the pod. Light walnut mounts with fine checkering. Total length 37 cm, barrels 20 cm. Genuine pair with all markings and hallmarks in very good condition. Category D.
