Rare Pionnier bayonet model 1865-71. Moulded brass handle with 17 diagonal stripes on the right-hand side and smooth stripes on the left-hand side, external locking spring screwed on the right-hand side, steel S-cruise. Straight blade with one hollow side, widening towards the end, with 75 teeth in two alternating rows. Markings on the heel V.JUNG & S SUHL and stamped with a G, back stamped FW crowned and dated 70, small marks also under the cruise, on the brass mount and on the scabbard leather. Crosspiece and clevis stamped 16.P.4.230. Black leather scabbard with two brass fittings, good stitching. Total length 61 cm, blade 48.2 cm.
