A violonnée-shaped cartel, with wooden case and Boulle marquetry of gilt brass on a brown scale background, richly decorated in chased and gilt bronze with a putto playing with its dog among foliage with rocaille motifs, surmounted by a representation of Chronos holding his scythe, bronze circular dial with enameled Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic for the minutes, mechanical movement with key winding, full count wheel, wire suspension, plate signed Daille in Saumur. Case stamped by cabinetmaker Nicolas-Jean Marchand, born circa 1697 and awarded the title of Master circa 1735; Louis XV period H 103 cm W49 cm D20cm (Wear, missing parts, dents, accidents, some bronzes added)
