Lefaucheux Model 1862 triple-action 12 mm pinfire revolver, - Lot 23
Lefaucheux Model 1862 triple-action 12 mm pinfire revolver, 6-shot. Round barrel marked on top "E. LEFAUCHEUX Bté SGDG Paris". The left side of the frame features the letters LF surmounted by the broken pistol emblem of Lefaucheux and the serial number. The front of the frame is marked 2 and LEFAUCHEUX Bté SGDG Paris again. 6-shot pinfire cylinder with no significant play. Small stock with smooth walnut grips. Cap with lanyard ring. The overall appearance is that of a very light, shiny orange peel, and can be improved without affecting the markings. (The triple action allows the hammer to be brought into the cocked position by moderate pressure on the trigger, with the hammer remaining cocked until a second pressure on the trigger is applied. The aim was to improve accuracy. Lefaucheux presented his triple-action revolver model to the Imperial Gendarmerie Commission). Category D
