A beautiful clock in mercury-gilded bronze, depicting Urania reading, known as the "Astronomy" clock. The muse, dressed in ancient style and wearing a crown of stars, leans on a bookcase adorned with a bust of Homer and griffins, and topped with scientific instruments, holding a book in her hand. Opposite her, a guilloché column supports an armillary sphere. Rectangular base adorned with an Athenian figure framed by columns, connected by drapery. Dial framed by a frieze of ovals, signed “Blasson” in Troyes Empire period Dimensions: 38 x 30 x 11 cm
