1866 Chassepot rifle. All parts bear the same serial number except for the ramrod. Clearly marked "Manufacture de St Etienne" and dated 1871, with all hallmarks well-defined. Barrel in mirror-like condition on the inside. Beautiful light walnut stock with minimal signs of use. In excellent condition for a shooter, complete with its needle and rubber plug (new). Category D.
