1895-model artillery helmet from the Duchy of Oldenburg. Cra - Lot 82
1895-model artillery helmet from the Duchy of Oldenburg. Cracked black patent leather shell. Black sheepskin liner with 9 teeth, very supple. Interior markings in white paint: FAR62, 3.O.B.I., and FAR 26 (crossed out). Neck strap stamped 1895 and 57. Scaled chin strap (left side missing). Neck strap ring marked A. Dahl. Gilded brass eagle plaque surmounted by an eight-pointed star, with the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy in silver plated metal at the center (replaced or readjusted to fit the helmet; holes in the leather enlarged); cockades are missing.
