1895-model officer's spiked helmet from the Artillery of the Duchy of Oldenburg. Shell made of cracked black patent leather. Black sheepskin liner with 9 tines, very supple. Interior marked in white paint with “FAR62,” “3.O.B.I.,” and “FAR 26” (crossed out). Neck strap stamped “1895” and “57.” Scaled chin straps. Neck strap ring marked “A. Dahl.” Gilded brass eagle plaque surmounted by an eight-pointed star, with the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy in Silver plated metal at the center (replaced or readjusted to fit the helmet; leather holes enlarged); the cockades are missing.
