Tobacco jar Barbotine, late 19th–early 20th century Head of a bearded, blond Arab sheikh (Moroccan Kabyle) wearing a red chechia and a white hood. The intricate mark, engraved on the base, is typical of Onnaing*: the number 804, which corresponds to the model listed in the Onnaing pottery catalog under the heading: “Moroccan,” surmounts a symbol that could represent the setting sun with its low-angled rays; further below is the coat of arms of a city with a crown, preceded by the word “FRIE” and followed by the capital letter “Q.” Good condition. H 16.5 cm
