Polychrome terracotta with original patina, ca. 1870–1877, Bohemia.
Louis Adolphe Thiers, President of the French Republic from 1871 to 1873, is seated in an armchair, holding an open book in his left hand. Two small holes near his ears indicate that he must have worn a pair of removable metal-framed glasses.
