Tobacco jar - Lot 40
Tobacco jar Bohemian stoneware, late 19th century Napoleon I, a lorgnette in hand, gazes at the horizon—whether in the midst of glory on a battlefield or preparing his escape from Elba or Saint Helena. The tree trunk against which he leans serves as a tobacco jar; another, smaller and hollowed-out trunk is intended for matches. A scraper is inscribed at the base of the piece. Marked “BB” with an asterisk and numbered 5535. H 19 cm
