Tobacco Jar - Lot 49
Tobacco Jar Bohemian slipware, late 19th* to early 20th century A group sculpture depicting a young boy in Tyrolean shorts and a young girl holding a jug, chatting in front of a fountain whose body forms the tobacco jar. A hollow basin holds unused matches, and a tray, positioned beneath the fountain’s spout, collects used ones. A scraper is inscribed on the left side of the base. Marked “BB Austria 2341” and the number 12 in pen. Polychrome restoration. H 19 cm
