Tobacco Jar
Barbotine, late 19th–early 20th* century
A square-shaped jar, which can be classified among the “composites,” depicting a bayadère with her mandolin, seated cross-legged on three large cushions with tassels, some of which are missing. The decoration is so exquisite that it could be a candy jar rather than a tobacco jar.
Marked with an inverted Y or Lambda and L.
