Large square wooden tobacco jar with decoration featuring a rosette pattern of gilded nails.
Handcrafted; unmarked. Made in Brittany.
Without lid.

Ebony, horn, and bone; 20th century
Resembling a snuffbox, this urn-shaped piece is decorated with horns and porcupine quills and rests on the back of a standing elephant with its two tusks. Could also be a pillbox or an ointment box.
No mark. African handcrafted work.
