Set of several wooden tobacco jars, circa 1950–1960 Large square wooden tobacco jar with decoration featuring a rosette pattern of gilded nails. Handcrafted; unmarked. Made in Brittany. Without lid. H 18.5 cm Ebony, horn, and bone; 20th century Resembling a snuffbox, this urn-shaped piece is decorated with horns and porcupine quills and rests on the back of a standing elephant with its two tusks. Could also be a pillbox or an ointment box. No mark. African handcrafted work. Height: 11.5 cm Three tobacco jars. Polychrome wood, early 20th century—France—head of a Black woman and an acrobat on a barrel from the early 20th century, a woman in a tub, glazed stoneware pot—wooden lid from the early 20th century.
