Set of several wooden tobacco jars, circa 1950–1960 One is square and decorated with a rosette pattern of gold-plated nails. Handcrafted in Brittany; unmarked. Lid missing. H 18.5 cm A second one made of ebony, horn, and bone, 20th century. Resembling a snuffbox, it is urn-shaped and decorated with horns and porcupine quills; it rests on the back of a standing elephant with its two tusks. Could also be a pillbox or an ointment box. No mark. African craftsmanship. Height: 11.5 cm The third is made of polychrome wood, early 20th century—France—head of a Black woman 4th: an acrobat on a barrel, early 20th century, Finally, a woman in a tub, glazed stoneware pot—wooden lid, early 20th century.
