Barbotine, 1900—probably from northern France—
An amusing composite piece, made of uniformly petrol-blue earthenware, encased in a bronze frame as was common at the beginning of the previous century, depicting the head of a dog with a watchful gaze and a hanging tongue emerging from a barrel, its two front paws resting on the rim, Marked on the base with the number 130 in intaglio and “Pe” in pen—likely the decorator’s mark.
