Tobacco Jar
18th-century Flemish wood marquetry
Urn-shaped jar made of multicolored wood marquetry (ebony, lemonwood, and cherry wood), whose vertically assembled and curved strips are held together by two circular copper rings, one at the top and one at the bottom of the jar. It rests on three small bone feet. The lid is also domed, featuring a narrow band of marquetry and a prominent black knob.
Unmarked, but from the collection of W. Angevaren of The Hague.
