Set of tobacco jars
Glazed stoneware, second half of the
20th century.
Small beige stoneware tobacco jar with a pewter lid. The relief decoration, quite refined and delicate, depicts two falconers in Henri II-style attire with their dogs surrounding a hunting scene featuring an aurochs being devoured by three lions.
Engraved on the base: 6064.
Crack in the body.

No mark, but possibly from the Wasmauel earthenware factory in Belgium
Fréthel marks and numerous chips.

Fine earthenware, first quarter of the 20th century
Small tobacco jar decorated with painted large cherries and their green leaves on a white background, framed by dark green bands at the top and bottom of the body. The lid is made of tinplate with a copper Fréthel mark.
No mark.

Earthenware, 20th century, circa 1970
Off-white tobacco jar with a printed design of a red carriage, drawn by two horses and driven by a coachman, carrying two elegant ladies. The dark brown ceramic lid features a compartment for the humidifying sponge.
Engraved with “9000” and in gold lettering: “exclusive design, hand-painted, made in France, registered design.”
