Set of tobacco jars Porcelain, circa 1970 A replica of a white porcelain apothecary jar with a pointed triangular lid topped by a large gold knob. The decoration on the lid consists of a garland of green leaves. On the body, the word “tabac” is inscribed in large gold Gothic letters, flanked by a tobacco flower stem with green petals. Marked “Limoges France.” H 19 cm A recent, rather decorative, bulbous white earthenware jar with colored decoration. Earthenware, second half of the 20th century Marked “F” on the base. H 18 cm A small, highly decorative tobacco jar, made of white earthenware and shaped like an urn with a pointed lid, is painted with small blue flowers and bears the inscription “Tabac de Brasil” on the body. 20th century Marked “P” and “T Nove,” possibly referring to the Tommasi factory in Nove, Veneto. H 15.5 cm Urn-shaped tobacco jar imitating Delftware. Decorated with large leaves and flowers, with a circular cartouche in the center of the body inscribed with “Foll Tobacco.” This is a purely decorative object. Modern earthenware, second half of the 20th century Unmarked. H 22 cm
