Glazed and painted stoneware, circa 1950. Large tobacco jar, German-made, modeled after a beer mug, richly decorated with cream-colored arabesques on a midnight blue background with an orange border. On the lid, a stylized green thistle flower; on the body, which features two orange handles, depictions of two cabaret scenes: the first shows two hunters seated at a table being served by a landlady, and the second shows the same two men greeting her or saying goodbye. Marked “Western Germany,” “Konigsberg in Saxony,” “1 L,” and the numbers 7, 1758, as well as “BH” in a cartouche. Chips. H 20 cm
