Large tobacco jar, German-made, modeled after a beer mug, richly decorated with cream-colored arabesques on a midnight blue background with an orange border. On the lid is a stylized green thistle flower, and on the body—which features two orange handles—are depictions of two cabaret scenes: the first shows two hunters seated at a table being served by a landlady, and the second shows the same two men greeting her or saying goodbye. Glazed and painted stoneware, circa 1950. Marked “Western Germany,” “Konigsberg in Saxony,” “1 L,” and the numbers 7, 1758, as well as “BH” in a cartouche. Chips. H 20 cm
