Clay pot, second half of the 19th century A whimsical tobacco jar depicting the head of a fish with glazed eyes, wearing a pale green bow tie around a scaly neck, clad in a purple jacket fastened with four buttons, blissfully smoking a large cigar with its hands crossed over its belly. Here, too, we see a reference to the pleasures of the table. Engraved with the numbers 62 and 4373 and pen-marked with the number 34. England. Small chips. Number 717. H 23 cm
