Fine English stoneware Late 19th century On a matte gray-green background, a relief depiction in white bisque: on the body, an Indian, an American pioneer, an explorer, and a Chinese man, all seated and smoking their pipes; and on the lid, two male busts—a jockey and a sailor—doing the same, while two elegant women, also depicted as busts, smoke cigarettes. Illegible mark 3483. In the Wedgwood style. Chips on the inner rim. H 17 cm
