Late 19th-century Bohemian slipware - Lot 225
Late 19th-century Bohemian slipware
Like the previous piece, this is an authentic rectangular tobacco set depicting a dreamy child lying on his stomach, his head in his hands, gazing at his tame rabbit. Behind him is a covered barrel, which serves as the tobacco jar itself; on one side of it is a square basin holding a small rush brush for matches, and on the other, a basket, likely for cigarettes. On one side of the base is a scraper.
Marked with the number 2300 and the initials BB, along with a cartouche bearing the letters DEP for “registered design.”
Small chips and missing pieces.
Height: 12 cm - 4.7 in - Base: 20 cm by 13.5 cm - 7.9 x 5.3
