Painted and glazed porcelain from the early 20th century - Lot 245
Painted and glazed porcelain from the early 20th century A small pot depicting a grotesque figure sitting cross-legged, of whom only the hands and splayed feet are visible, in a pose reminiscent of a state of bliss. The beret he wears on his blond hair and the wide collar marked “Tabacco” would lead one to think he is a sailor smoking his pipe, were it not for the fact that his outfit—resembling flowered pajamas—is so garish and ridiculous. No brand name, but possibly of Italian origin due to the spelling of the word “tabac.” Listed in the Horowitz catalog under number 320. Height: 13 cm
